The Life of the Broadway Gypsy

Remember all those people you saw last night on the Tonys?  Those men and women singing and dancing, smiling and sweating in relative anonymity behind the stars?  The people whose names you will likely never know?  The people whose bank accounts will likely never grow too big?  The people who work their asses off day in and day out dancing, singing, understudying and swinging every musical you’ve ever seen?  The people who don’t get into cars after the show, but just disappear into midtown, as if they’re just like everyone else?

They’re called gypsies.  They’re the lifeblood of Broadway.  Of any musical, anywhere, actually.

Via one of my favorite blogs, The Randy Report, we get this piece about the life of gypsies from CBS News ~
